Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a difficult period, winning just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Presently working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court from that period of that year.

Success also means the Russian has secured 21 titles at 21 distinct events.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's retrieving strategy and frequent reactions on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his ability to play at the top level was finished.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an improved serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, securing four of the last five points to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional title, took control to push for a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 early break points in a close final set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
